Zeffler Photo 101 is about making sure you are prepared and know what to expect for your photo shoot with us. We like to make the process as smooth and stress free as possible for everyone involved. Updated August 29, 2013.
Check out other posts on what to wear, where to go, who to bring and how to have a little fun. Now I need to give you a few tips to keep the little ones happy and involved. Because an unhappy kid is a bad thing.
- Don’t wake up the kids. We often schedule photo shoots early in the day. It’s a necessity for great natural light, and in the warmer months and escape from the heat. Please consider the time we are asking you and your kids to wake up. If it is not a time that you or your kids will be awake and feeling sharp, consider scheduling at different time of day. Consider your child’s nap times as well.
- Tell us your concerns. Please feel free to talk to me or Burgess about any concerns or worries you have. We want to make sure you are as comfortable and feel as good as possible. If you are relaxed it makes all the difference for the kids.
- Let the kids be kids, and let yourself be a kid too. We’re not at church. The kids can get a little loud and unruly. Or they don’t have to if that’s not their personality. They can be whatever they want to be. An unhappy kid will make the experience difficult, and only stress out the parents. With that said, you should come to have fun too and not worry about the details.
- No idea is a bad idea…for the most part. Let the kids throw in their ideas. It is amazing how much the whole family will relax when they feel like they are being heard and are part of the process. Half the fun is coming up with crazy ideas. Just go with it.
The most important thing is to be ready to have fun with your little ones, and be prepared to roll with the punches. Even the best kids have moments where they do not want to be photographed. You know your kids best, but I know together we can make sure they have fun and that we can create some great photos.
